I center a liberatory psychotherapy which honors the complexity and immediacy of navigating life when past trauma exists entangled with present conditions of oppression.

We live in a world filled with bodies: animal, human, plant, water. Bodies imagined and discarded, categorized, and placed into hierarchies. For me, a somatic therapy must include all bodies we live with and the relationships between them. Bodies come into being as sources of pleasure, pain, joy, frustration. They communicate overstimulation and discord, sensation and absence. They are sites of violence and also of healing.
The relationship to one's own body and other bodies is never apolitical. Human and non-human bodies alike are subjected to the violent, disabling forces of racial capitalism. Some bodies (racialized, non-normatively gendered, disabled) bear a greater individual and collective weight of this violence.
Rediscovering the capacity to experience safety and trust in the aftermath of violence is a process. While I do not integrate craniosacral therapy with psychotherapy, my work as a psychotherapist and how I relate to working with trauma, is informed by 20 years of working as a biodynamic craniosacral practitioner. Craniosacral therapy taught me to trust the strength residing in gentleness, the importance of rest and resourcing over forced regulation, and honed the patience to listen for the deeper forces of transformation that reside within.

My fee is $180 per 50 minute session. Sessions are scheduled for a regular weekly time, 1 or more times per week. I reserve a number of lower fee/sliding scale spaces for individuals who face economic barriers in accessing psychotherapy. These spots in my practice are often full. Good Faith Estimate
I am invested in providing psychotherapy disconnected from systems that surveil and pathologize marginalized persons and communities. To this end, I do not accept insurance or provide superbills for reimbursement.

Glad you asked! These timid scavengers of moon-light and trash have traversed the planet for over 100 million years. Opossums are perhaps most well-known for playing dead in avoidance of death or bodily harm. Yet, that means opossums have also spent millions of years remembering how to come back to life.
