Neurodivergent Competent
As an autistic therapist, I bring an extra degree of sensitivity to the work we do together, knowing that safety and trust are earned. I work with you to co-create a respectful, enlivening space where your sensitivities, quirks, and intensity can thrive.
To Diagnose or Not to Diagnose
I work with neurodivergent kids, teens, and adults, with and without formal diagnoses. I also welcome those not interested in diagnosis but curious about their lived experiences. Ultimately, diagnosis remains a question for you. I respect your right to self-identify as expert on your own lived experience.
Relational & Complex Trauma
Misunderstanding and a lack of sensitivity often lead to neurodivergent adults and children being treated with contempt. To be objectified and devalued in this way, especially in close relationships with caregivers, can cause profound injury. Working together, we will build a relationship built on respect and dignity, moving at a pace that best serves your process. More info on how I work with Trauma
ABA Therapy and Its Long Shadow
Therapy should be a space, a relationship, where your full complexity as a person can exist and come to be known. I do not practice ABA or behavioral therapies that seek to cure neurodivergent ways of being. You do not need to prove to me that your experience is real or valid. We begin with belief. Meltdowns, overwhelm, anxiety, hyper-fixations. All are valuable messages from your psyche, which deserve care and respect.
