Trans & Nonbinary Existence
There is no singular way to be, live, or identify as trans or nonbinary. I welcome all gender nonconforming expressions and trans/formations. I don’t subscribe to progress narratives that it will get better - after all, progress has never been equally distributed. What I do know, is that trans and nonbinary people are not going anywhere - we are full of fierce self-determination, with a style and panache all our own.
Exploring Gender
Gender is woven through all parts of life. It defines us, limits us, and sometimes plays with us. It may feel challenging to touch in yourself what others claim to know, to own, to regulate. I work with teens and adults in transition, pre/post-transition, or not interested in transition. My agenda is to support you in claiming embodiment on your terms.
Surviving Gender
If we choose to work together, we will begin by establishing safety and building trust. As a trans therapist, I am well versed in how psychology has pathologized our psyches and objectified our bodies. Together we will navigate the turbulence of living in a world that can be cruel to gender nonconforming folks and practice relationship rooted in dignity and respect. Mending Relationships
Sometimes we explore gender and sometimes we fight to survive the gendered world. Transphobia weaves itself through education, employment, medical care, and religion. Being excluded is these spaces may also feel like being decentered from your own life. I support folks in navigating present access needs as well as working through past trauma, including harm experienced in prior therapies.
